Saturday Sun: Curio

After what seemed like days of rain and gloom, this past Saturday the sun came out and fall temperatures were finally among us. We woke up and decided to enjoy brunch in the quarter with Curio. With bottomless mimosas, rose, and bloody mary's as the drink specials, it was a go.

After getting caught by an impromptu parade, a bit of traffic, and a brisk walk through the windy streets of the French Quarter, we finally arrived at our reservation.. only 45 minutes late! While the mimosas are served pre-made in a pitcher, I figured I'd ask for bottomless champagne with a side of OJ instead. Ask, and you shall receive! Our waiter was able to accommodate my picky self and did not disappoint on the fabulous bottomless feature.

Now onto the food, we started with the Carpaccio, which DID NOT disappoint! The appetizer plate was cleaned after we were through with it, leaving no microgreen behind. Each of us ordered the top 3 recommendations from our server: Nola Benedict, Shrimp & Grits, and Steak & Eggs. Each serving was filling and tasty; and all for a reasonable price. While the dishes weren't as divine as the starter, we still finished with happy bellies.

Immediately following brunch, we took a quick little tour of the restaurant. The art and decor is warm and inviting. The upstairs is open and bright. The balcony is absolutely delightful. While it was chilly, there are warmers on the balcony for those who choose to dine outside. Another great feature were the TVs, making this a great place in the quarter to watch a game while also satisfying all cravings and hunger!
